Donna received a B.S. degree with honors from Miami University and a MBA from Wright State University where she was recognized as the Outstanding Management Graduate. Possessing a passion for life-long learning, she was selected by the USAF Executive Development Panel to lead a study on Developing 21st Century Leaders which resulted in restructured individual development plans for all USAF senior executives.
Donna culminated a distinguished 33 year USAF career as the Chief Financial Officer for the Aeronautical Systems Center with responsibility for an $18B annual budget to acquire and sustain USAF weapon systems including B-1, B-2, C-17, F-15, F-16, F/A-22, F-35, Global Hawk, Predator, and others. She led a 700 person team in Ohio and Texas with expertise in cost estimating, budgeting, earned value management, scheduling, auditing, accounting and finance. Donna has been recognized with numerous awards throughout her USAF Senior Executive Service career including the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Exceptional Civilian Service Award, the Charles Adams Comptrollership Award, the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award, and recently had an award named in her honor, the Donna J. Back Financial Management Leadership Award.
Donna has served her profession and community in a myriad of ways through leadership and active association with the American Society of Military Comptrollers, Wright State University College of Business Advisory Board, Aeronautical Systems Center Transformational Leadership Council and Corporate Board, Greater Miami Valley Combined Federal Campaign, Air Force Association Heritage Benefit Advisory Board, CultureWorks Board, Miami Valley Military Affairs, Beavercreek Schools Strategic Planning Committee and Advisory Council, and the USAF Financial Management Career Program.
